This conversation is about creating a safe, open space for our community to come together and learn more about Māori wards. You’ll hear directly from local leaders, allies, and advocates who will share their experiences and explain why Māori representation around the decision-making table matters. It’s a chance to cut through the confusion, ask questions, and understand the positive outcomes that Māori wards bring for everyone in our community.
Speakers include Mayor of Hastings Sandra Hazlehurst, Waiora Mayor Craig Little, Hastings District councillor Heather Te Au-Skipworth and HB Regional Councillor Neil Kirton. MCs are Napier City deputy mayor Annette Brosnan and councillor Sally Crown.
Doors open at 6.30 for cuppa and cake, talk starts at 7pm.
